Since 2011, Danscentrumjette has been actively committed to making contemporary dance and artistic creation more accessible to young people through its dedicated arts education branch, MoVart – DCJ.

The methodologies applied within MoVart – DCJ are grounded in active, participatory learning. They prioritize self-development and support the emergence of each participant’s unique individuality. Teachers provide technical foundations, creative tools, and conceptual frameworks, while cultivating critical thinking and encouraging collaborative exchange.

This pedagogical model is radical and it recognizes and honors the individuality of each participant. Everyone remains the author of their own material and is able to see themselves reflected in the collective work. MoVart creates space for difference and exchange, whether cultural, personal, and artistic and sees diversity as a strength.

We work with and in cultural centres, schools, after school, youth theatres, festivals, shelters, open air events and in our studios in danscentrumjette.
