Chrysa Parkinson

Chrysa Parkinson is a dancer and teacher in Brussels and New York. This year she is performing with Deborah Hay (US), Thomas Hauert/Zoo (BE), and Jonathan Burrows (UK). She has also danced with Tere O'Connor Dance for many years. Her teaching is influenced by her studies in Alexander Technique, Body Mind Centering, Mahler/Klein Technique, Contact Improvisation, and by working with Jennifer Monson, David Zambrano, and the people with whom she is performing.
Since 1998, Chrysa has been involved in an ongoing investigation of performance, technique and improvisation through teaching workshops at Rosas, P.A.R.T.S., and Movement Research in NYC, among other places.... In 1996 she received a Bessie (NY Dance and Performance Award) for sustained achievement.
