Ernesto Edivaldo

Edivaldo Ernesto (Mozambique) begins to dance in 1998 with the tsemba dance group, where he learns Mozambican traditional dance. In 2001 he is invited to be a member of Ussoforal, a western African traditional dance group. Later he starts his training at the National Song and Dance Company of Mozambique (CNCD), where he learns classic dance. In 2003 he starts dancing with company escultutas Humanas. That same year he is accepted for the first phase of a choreographic development project, a six months training program organized by CulturArte and Dances na Cidade(Portugal), where he did workshops with Boyzie Cekwana and Desire Davids(South Africa),David Zambrano and Mat Voorter (Venezuela-Holland) and Faustin Linyekula
(Congo). In 2005 he participates in the Dance
Web (Europe) Scholarship for six weeks. He dances in ‘Habitue-se a escolher’, directed by Faustin Linyekula, ‘Twelve flies went out at noon’,‘Soul project’ and ‘SHOCK’ directed by David Zambrano. He has been working with Sasha Waltz since
2005 and is a permanent ensemble member
of Sasha Waltz & Guests since 2008. Edivaldo dances in ‘Travelogue-Twenty to eight’,
‘Jagden und Formen’, ‘Continu’, ‘Metamorphoses’ and ‘Passion’, and took part in various Dialoge-projects by Sasha Waltz. In 2010 he participates in the 50 Days program in Costa Rica, directed by David Zambrano.
