Renate Graziadei

Renate was born in Austria. She began her dance education in Switzerland followed by
three years of studying and working in New York, where she was dancing with the Nina Wiener Dance
Company a.o. After her return to Europe she worked with Rui Horta at the S.O.A.P. Dance Theatre
Frankfurt and afterwards with the Hamburg dance company COAX. In fall 1994 she founded the
collective LaborGras together with Arthur Stäldi. Since the foundation of LaborGras she realized 15 own
productions/projects together with Arthur Stäldi and was involved in numerous productions of other
artists. In 1997 and 1998 she received a scholarship of the danceWEB program at the Internationalen
Tanzwochen in Vienna, and in 1997 she was awarded for being a distinguished talented young dancer
by the annual critic-opinion poll of the magazine ballett international/tanz aktuell. Since 1996 she has
regularly been teaching contemporary dance technique at different institutes in Germany (a.o. workout
supervision at Sascha Waltz and Guest, Folkwang Hochschule). Since summer 2004 she has been
working as a corepetitor for the piece „IMPROMPTUS“ and since summer 2005 for the opera „Dido &
Aenaes“ at Sascha Waltz and Guests.
